This video was made in 1993. At that time Professor Cowan was Chair of the Scottish Studies program at Guelph, a position now held by Professor Graeme Morton.

This portion of the video includes footage of the McLaughlin Library's Scottish collection, which is now the largest collection of Scottish materials outside Scotland.
